If you want to know how to replace the power supply in the PC, it is simple. All you need is a bit of patience and the right tools. The basic tools required include; an appropriate screwdriver for removing the screw driver, pliers, a hammer, a pair of scissors, a screwdriver, and a flashlight.

First thing to do is remove the front plate by unclipping the screws and lifting the motherboard

off the motherboard tray using the screwdriver. Use the wrench to pull the motherboard away from the motherboard tray. Once the front plate is off, you can now access the two bottom-most screws that hold the motherboard and CPU together.

The next step is to unscrew the cable or power connector from the cable/wire where it needs to be removed. You can either use the wire cutters or an X-Acto knife for that. Ensure that you don’t cut the wires.

Now you need to remove the first screw that holds the fan. You can do this using your pliers.

Next you need to unscrew the screw that mounts the disk drive. You need to use the pliers to unscrew the screw. After this, the screw should come out easily.

The second screw that is in the RAM slots needs to be unscrewed using the screwdriver. There are two screws at the top left and right corners of the RAM slots. You need to loosen them using the pliers.

The third screw that is in the top left corner needs to be unscrewed using the pliers.

You can use the screwdriver if you find it difficult to remove the screw. Then, the RAM slots will need to be replaced with screws.

The bottom-most screw that is holding the CPU also needs to be replaced with a new one. Just get out your screwdriver and remove the screw. You can now unscrew the CPU’s cover.

After that, all you need to do is replace the bottom-most screw. Ensure that you pull the tab right at the back of the CPU so that it will stay on the motherboard.

Now all you need to do is replace the new replacement parts. The power cord, the SATA cable, the Molex connector, the Ethernet connectors, the CPU fan and the CPU heatsink. Now you are all set.

To ensure that the computer can still be used, you can power on the computer and if it operates then just remove the USB cable and the hard drive.
